Minimum requirements
The basis of each rating for the S-Rating is the minimum requirements of the Volkswagen Group.
Minimum requirements for:
Locations with 10-99 employees
- Questions 3, 5, 5a, 7, 7a, 9, 9a, 10 and 10a
Locations with 100 or more employees
- Questions 3, 5, 5a, 7, 7a, 9, 9a, 10 and 10a
- Sufficient score in the SAQ
- Environmental Management System Certificate (Question 11 in SAQ)
Questions in SAQ: 3, 5, 5a, 7, 7a, 9, 9a, 10 and 10 a:
3. Business partners have a Code of Conduct.
5. Business partners have a policy on working conditions and human rights, which includes at least the following topics covered:
5a.
- Child labour and young workers
- Wages and benefits
- Working hours
- Modern slavery (i.e. slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labor and human trafficking)
- Freedom of association and collective bargaining
- Non-discrimination and harassment
7. Business partners have an occupational health and safety policy that includes at least the following Topics covered:
7a.
- Emergency preparedness
- Incident and accident management
- Fire protection
9. Business partners have a policy on business ethics that includes at least the following Topics covered:
9a.
- Anti-corruption and Anti-money laundering
- Conflicts of interest
10. Business partners have an environmental protection policy that covers at least the following topics:
10a.
- Energy efficiency
- Renewable energies
- Sustainable resource management
- Waste reduction
You have the option of using one document as evidence for multiple questions. You can upload this document again and again as proof (one document as proof for questions 3, 5, 5a, 7,7a, 9, 9a, 10 and 10 a if the relevant topics are included).

Minimum requirements for locations with 100 or more employees
1. Questions in SAQ 3, 5, 5a, 7, 7a, 9, 9a, 10 and 10a (see left)
2. Score in the SAQ:
Business partners must achieve a sufficient score in the SAQ to receive a positive S rating.
3. Environmental Management System Certificate (Question 11 in SAQ)
The environmental management system certificate (ISO 14001 or equivalent EMAS certificate) is a mandatory requirement within the framework of the S-Rating for business partners with production sites with 100 or more employees according to the Code of Conduct for Business Partners.
4. On-site inspection if necessary
If the Volkswagen Group requires an on-site inspection, we will contact the business partners.
